The Blessing over Bread
The blessing said over bread — the one you'll hear at every Shabbat table. Same opening six words as the hand-washing blessing, then four new ones.
Baruch atah Adonai eloheinu melech ha'olam, hamotzi lechem min ha'aretz.
Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who brings forth bread from the earth.
Said while holding the bread, just before eating it.
